Family research in South Africa is complicated and so please read the Beginners guide at the address below. It is a   page PDF and will explain various avenues of research, as well as what is available from the Archives. From here, investigate the links in the guide as well as others on my links page. There's also a brief in-depth look at 'Making the Most of Deceased Estate Files' (under the section 'South African Interest' on the Main Page) and a Guide to Tracing Anglo-Boer War Ancestors. 

To save time please tell me which avenues you have searched and as amny deatils as possible. In the past I have spent many hours digging up info which the person already had!
Otherwise it is only a pleasure to help or point you in the right direction.
