Was his name Kurt Paul Linssner, Karen?

http://www.gazettes-online.co.uk/ shows that somebody by this name became a British Citizen 14 Dec 1960 - he was a Blacksmith from Germany and was living in Hampshire at the time.

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=242 - it looks like you may be able to get hold of his certificate of naturalization.

Do you know if/when he married/died in England?

http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx

Kurt P. Linssner married a Stella J. Smart in Andover Oct/Nov/Dec 1950 Vol 6b page 185 - this certificate should give you his age/father's name/occupation.
