How would i find children from this family? I have my grandads birth 1916 Harold fletcher I know he had brothers and a sister called rose but know nothing more. Is there any way to find out names and dates etc and possibly who they married?
Has Anybody got any ideas?

Hi Tracey,
I had a look for the marriage you mentioned in the indexes and I came up with:
June Quarter 1907 FLETCHER, James Salford 8d 143
and on the same page:
NIGHTINGALE, Rose Anna
Is this the right marriage?
If so, I found the following births:
March Quarter 1913, FLETCHER, Arthur, Mother's maiden name: NIGHTINGALE, Salford 8d 128 Dec Quarter 1914, FLETCHER, Albert, Mother's maiden name: NIGHTINGALE, Salford 8d 117 March Quarter 1916, FLETCHER, Harold, Mother's maiden name: NIGHTINGALE, Salford 8d 113 Dec Quarter 1918, FLETCHER, Elizabeth, Mother's maiden name: NIGHTINGALE, Salford 8d 96 June Quarter 1920, FLETCHER, Lily, Mother's maiden name: NIGHTINGALE, Salford 8d 106
These may not all be brothers & sisters and there may be more as the mother's maiden name was only listed in the indexes after September quarter 1911.
Hope this gives you some leads to follow up.
Regards,
Al

Hi Tracey (Tigster). I hope this text reaches you.
I only just saw your message today (June 2009) seeking information - back in 2006 - re:Fletcher/Nightingale (2006).
I Googled 'Fletcher/Salford' and your additional references to: Baxendale/Storer/Belper (who also appear in my family tree), caught my attention.
I believe that my Grandfather (Jacob Fletcher) and your Gt Grandfather (James Fletcher) are brothers - both the sons of William Fletcher and Jane Fletcher (Nee Baxendale of Salford, Lancs)
Please let me know if you eventually receive this message and I can supply more details to confirm the family connection.
I would be most interested to learn of your research and whether you have any knowledge of James Fletcher's military service in WW1?
I have a photo of Jacob Fletcher in uniform with a group of unidentified soldiers.
Regards. Cluedo

Hi Tigster.
1911 census shows that James (aged 25) & 'Rose Ann' Fletcher (aged 22) had two earlier children (not itemised in above previous post).
These are listed as: John (aged 2) and Rosie (aged 6 months).
I note your original post (above) confirms that your grandad did have a sister called 'Rose'.
My grandfather 'Jacob' (aged 20) is also listed in the 1911 Census as an occupant of the same household.
Best Wishes
Cluedo
