Mine still haven't arrived! Cry Cry  I noticed yesterday online when I checked my bank account the money only went out yesterday so GRO are not being very honest in giving a 5 day estimate.  The money usually goes out at least a week before the certificates arrive.   Angry Angry Angry Angry

Mine was ordered on the 4th - with a dispatch date of 10th - arrived today - 12th.

Was not that worried as it was ONLY a death certificate for my 1st cousin - but it does confirm that she lived to be 100 years old !!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Now how do I find who has the Queens birthday message?!!

Cheers

Hope so Kerry. Was planning a weekend of research. I have a suspicion that my Elizabeth and Phebe are the same person, and need these certificates to confirm it. It's sooo annoying when they say it will arrive on one day, and yet there is no sign of it!

I find that the inconsistency is becoming a pain. I recently ordered 6 certificates. One came within a few days. One was not correct on reference checking and I received an e-mail also within a few days. 3 came pretty well as stated on shipment date and 1 I am still waiting for after 12 days.
I have chased the last one but have received the standard response that my e-mail will be replied to in 5 days.

Well, Ishould have had a couple today and they've not arrived.

Sadly, there was a programme on Radio 4, 9-9.30  this morning - that Giles Brandreth interviewing adopted people and a randon selection at the Family Records Centre and telling people how they can order certificates online, etc.

So................another mad rush  Sad

Are you surprised Gadget when the FRC is supposedly moving to Kew, it looks to me as if people are being encouraged to order online, how on earth are people going to get certs if the only alternatives are to order online or direct from local registrars, already I have had requests returned unable to supply due to lack of staff from locals, so what happens to those who either do not have or do not want to order online?, things will only get worse in my opinion

Well, Keith, that's got to prove something!
I ordered 4th, dispatch date 10th. Mine hasn't come.
Now I've noticed a trend here, which has raised my hopes.
When I am sending for one that I think is connected to that woman, Eliza Ann, if it comes early, it's the wrong one, if it's delayed.....you've guessed. I think she puts her finger in the works and likes to see me sweating.......er, glowing. Cheesy

Keith

There was an address from 1995 on the death certificate of the Niece, the informant - I have written to this address hoping my newly found relative is still living there.

Never mind the certificates  Shocked - I do hope she hasn't moved and the Postie works fast!!

Cheers
