I am now looking for the following family in 1871, to see whether son John (aged 8 below) was still living at home ten years later. Linton is right on the border with Worcestershire so I will post there also. By 1881, John Jr was living alone in Audley, Stoke-on-Trent, working as a miner. He was one of 77 men who lost their lives in the Diglake Colliery flood of January 1895.
Thanks to Tricia for her help with the 1861 entry below:
1861 Linton Herefordshire, RG9/1829, Folio 93, Page 12
John Guise Head age 40 Agric Lab b. Aston, Worcestershire Ann Guise abt wife age 36 b. Suckley, Worcestershire William Guise son age 15 b. Suckley, Worcestershire John Guise son age 8 b. Whitborne, Herefordshire Joseph Guise son age 5 b. Linton, Herefordshire George Guise son age 3 b. Linton, Herefordshire Mary Guise dau age 1 b. Linton, Herefordshire
Many thanks,
Susan
