Having done a rough search of the 1861 census, I think there is an Edward Lloyd born c 1843 in Flintshire living (somewhere) in Cheshire with possible family of Robert Lloyd born c 1817, Margaret born c 1809, Sarah born c1838, Ellen born c1840, Mary born c 1845 and John born c1851 - all born Flintshire.
Would appreciate details of this entry including occupations as I'm trying to figure out whether or not this is my Edward whom so far I have found in every other census except the 1861. (Note, he was with his parents and family in 1851 Flintshire and on his own in Darlington, Co Durham in 1871 but had relatives in Cheshire so hoping relationship in 1861 if written as son is incorrect - grasping at straws here...).
Many thanks. Anne

Thank you Pam for the information. Suspect it's not him as he is a bricksetter as is Robert, head of household, but at least I can eliminate him from my list of potentials.
Thanks again, Anne

Hi Pam,
The last one sounds interesting as I know Edward was a joiner in 1871 onwards. The age is a couple of years out though as is the place of birth - however from past experience, I know that age a place of origin can be wildly innacurate.
I shall definitely keep that info on record in case something 'clicks' in the future.
Will have to search for him in the states I think just to eliminate the possibility he might have gone over for a few years and then come back - a few from his family seem to have disappeared in 1861.
Many thanks for your help. Anne
