Charge of Highway Robbery – Seth Boswell 27, a good looking gypsey...........
Hi Krissy Thanks for that site....I eventually found the seth Boswell case .....of course it had to be near the end ..but i had a good read along the way.
I am very interested in the Boswells , they are not blood related but my gr grandad's brother Christopher married Maria boswell (his 2nd wife, carnation richards was his first , she died at 24 of Tb leaving behind a young son)...anyway ,,,, Maria boswell's brother abraham murdered someone and was sentenced to 20 years.
where i am going with this you may ask ....well if you rememeber "cornish Mystery"..... my ggg grandad was george slack/smith......married Amelia Carnarton.....well Maria Boswell had a partner for near on 15 years ..... he was , i think a John SLACK.
we have always wondered why George Slack/smith ( my ggg grandad) and his family changed their names...we had concluded that it was bankruptcy etc...... BUT what if he , george slack/smith, did not want to be associated with the Boswells thru a relative...ie Slack who was with maria Boswell.....
ok so I have a vivid imagination ....but sometimes with this kinda search you have to
I would love to be able to find more Boswell "info" during the 1850 and 60's .... this was when george slack (1851 became george smith (1861).
Hi Kris Thankyou for the information............. what a great site ......... I to like Deb am very interested in the Boswells as Abraham was my Great-grandfather and he named one of his sons Seth, so it makes it more interesting, as the odds are he was related in some way..... but will have to do a lot of work to find that out,
Thanks again for the site Kris, Great read Colleen
