Help! This is off IGI and as the christening is pre 1837 I cannot just order a cert in the hope that it will all come clear
Can anyone translate this for me - its in relation to a Rowen[Rowan] forebeare in Manchester Cathedral in 1827(but the diocese was not created until 1847).
In other, earlier, references to Christenings in the same family IGI also refers to the Cathedral which I know was a simple parish church in the 14th century and then became a collegiate church before it became a Cathedral (and parish) church...
The spelling is not the ecclesiastical canon so is this a conflating of some sort of address?

So any thoughts anyone, please.....

The record shows that the baptism took place at Grosvenor Street Chapel, Piccadilly and the abbreviation for the rest stands for formerly Cannon Street Independant Chapel, Manchester. This now comes under Roby Chapel I think.

Thank you - how on earth did you translate that into something sensible! Still it makes sense in relation to the other things I think I know about the Rowen's
