I would appreciate any help in tracing the families of my Gr.Gr.Grandparents James Small and his wife Rebecca Harvieson,they were born aprox.1836.
My Gr.Grandmother was born in Dumbarton in 1859 and the family then moved to Jarrow, England.In the 1881 English census Rebecca names Dumbarton as her place of birth and James, Scotland, I think this may have been Ayr.

Could this have been Rebecca in 1841? Family called Harbison - may be mistranscribed - living at West Bridgend, Cardross, Dunbartonshire, albeit that they were all born in Ireland. I couldn't see anything else even close to Rebecca Harvieston.

I found 32 James Smalls born 1836 + or - 5 years on the 1841 but only two in Ayrshire
