See my post 11:53 Sunday night, just a few up. I've banged my head on the brick wall which probably improved my brains more than anything else. See the discussions in this thread back to July where I set out a whole solution without knowing how to put it into place on a server. The owners have got to do that.
I think the only way we can get this security breach filled is by finding out how to do it and giving the solution to the Rootschat moderators because in the meantime a lot of Rootschatters have their livings and privates plastered on the web for all to see. Could Rootschat be sued for allowing this to happen?
In the meantime, 1mb geds and all privates removed from our trees. BTW, how does that work in Australia, do you have to ask permission to see each and every tree? And if so, do you give permission just like that. Otherwise how do you find cousins?
Cheers, falcybe

There is a way of providing some protection, by moving the index folder outside the PGV one. But that shouldn't be required on a well setup site.
And yes, in another life, I was threatened with legal action over some "too personal" detail that I posted.
As for cousins - well, they find you. I have no "linked" sites just yet, as I'm not sure the program does quite what it should. So I just set up individual instances of PGV (space is cheap) and password restrict it all. A bit of common sense tells me who to let have what sort of access...most only get to "view", but some more useful ones get to "edit"
