Due to a glitch in my book keeping, I no longer have a birth or marriage for my Henry COLYER.
He was born abt. 1822 at Horton Kirby, married someone called Sarah, and had the following children.
Sarah 1836,
Henry 1838
Mary 1841
William 1845
Elizabeth 1849
Charles 1851
John 1854
John was my g.grandfather.

Thankyou for your interest Casaguidi. Yes I'm afraid the 1822 birth date should have been 1812 - hit the wrong key!
The reason I am now looking for this information again is because on looking through my files, I had Henry's marriage to Sarah Holmes in 1849, but his children's births start in 1836 !!
Sarah 1836 Farningham,
Henry 1838 Surrey Christchurch,
William 1845 Rotherhithe
Elizabeth 1849 "
Charles 1851 "
John 1854 "
They were at Rotherhithe in 1851 census, 1861 and 1871. So Henry is definately married to a Sarah, but it wasn't Sarah Holmes. I obviously had the wrong marriage. I worried at first thinking I had the wrong branch completely, but Henry, through his son John, is definately mine. (John married Sarah Ann Smith, and one of their children was Charles Frederick Colyer, my grandfather)
Through the parish registers I also found the banns of a Henry Colyer, then someone else found me the marriage which was to a Catherine Mandy in 1776. This makes him too old to be my Henry's father, but hopefully is his grandfather. Hope I'm not muddying the waters Casalguidi !
I've just gone back to the Horton Kirby and Ash registers but only come up with a Gravestone for George and Mary Ann Mandy - wouldn't it be good if they were Catherine's parents. (As you can see, I'm ever the optimist!!)
I think thats all - I would really appreciate some help with this,
