Blackburn 1851 census

I am looking for Richard Stancliffe and Jonathan Stancliffe & family in Blackburn, please. I am trying to ascertain where they were born but cannot find any baptisms in the Blackburn area.

Hi 2423r,

Not knowing when your Stancliffes were born I can only suggest registering with Ancestry.com (free). With them you can view some information from the 1871 census which records a Richard and Jonathan Stancliffe and families in the Blackburn area. It doesn't, unfortunately, say where they were born (you may have to pay for that info.) On the freebmd website a birth for Jonathan is recorded in 1846.

Thanks for that information Amanda. I was hoping the 1851 census might give me the parents of these two people and I could probably find their place of origin.
