I've not tried the gallery in NOF10 - is it any better, Falkyrn?

Gadget

No, its pretty much the same - I much prefer the gallery option available in a program called  Xara Webstyle..... although I would love to try and incorporate something like that CSS one in my site (if I ever get around to finishing it)

Julian

I tried JAlbum once but couldn't get it to load up at all.  Gave up in the end.

I like being in control!!!!!

Just don't ask me about my partner's website, the webhosts couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag at the moment.  They have been trying to sort out an FTP problem since last Sunday, I can't update and they are useless, I'm trying to keep my control Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Sad Sad Sad

Is that (Xara) the one that Bob gave a reference to last year - examples were very Zen -y?

And it is time you finished that website - Some of us would like to see your work as well as taking your always sound advice  Smiley

Milly - Falkyrn was the one who sent me the NOF8 when I was wavering about Dreamweaver or Frontpage, which I passed on to Kerry which she passed on to.......etc  Cheesy

And it is time you finished that website -

Technically I have finished it - at least a dozen times  Roll Eyes but then decide to rebuild it and I'm never satisfied with the results.  Lips Sealed

I'm too easily distracted and often decide to try things just to see if they will do what I want (or think that I want) and then the inevitable rebuild starts.

Unfortunately, real life intervened in things for a while there but  I may yet find some time to get some of the work done that really needs to be completed.

Hi Falkyrn...

and hi all...

It has often been said I might have control freak tendencies...mainly by my other half.

OOOPS- got so carried away making it look nice and wide on screen that I forgot that people might actually want to print pages out...I made it just a touch too wide.   Have rearranged it all (again) and it's fine now - but it got me thinking is there something special I should be doing to prepare for printing pages out?

Thanks

Hi Gadget

That would be useful, a concept I had not even thought of - printing pages!

I believe the idea is to have a plain copy of each page . This is linked to from the 'fancy' page. You could also maybe create a PDF file with all the text in it - as a booklet say - and link it. I think it's possible.

I print mine out on A3 or A4 landscape when I want hard copy. Mind you there's an arguement for making them difficult to print out.

I have quite narrow pages on my sites so they print out fine on A4 but they are not plain.

Kerry

And yes I agree there is something to be said for making it difficult.   Roll Eyes

You can select or create an area of your page and click on 'insert html' and a pop up window appears and you just copy the code into that.

That's how I inserted the Statcounter code anyway.

Thanks Gadget

That's it, I was being dumb.  What I wanted to do didn't work anyway!

I was trying to add some maps I have created from www.wayfaring.com of the travels of my ancestors but it adds you profile, passwords and everything.  There doesn't seem to be a facility for justing adding a map away from your profile!  So users could create maps on your profile etc  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

I'm not having that.  I shall have to find another way!
