Hi,I am researching the name Nicol.My Nicol is Margaret married David Kennedy in Mains and Strathmartin in 1834.Margarets parents were Alexander Nicol and Jane Cant.Let me know if you think there is a connection.Anne.PS Alexanders parents were John Nicol and Ann Jamieson.

My Nicoll (Andrew) was born in Ferry Port on Craig, Fife, but moved to Dundee and married Margaret Sime in 1881; later they, with their family (all born in Dundee), emigrated to Canada.  Have also Isobel Cant in our family but born in Dunfermline, Fife.

My Nicoll is Agnes Nicoll born  in 1880 in Dundee, William Nicoll her father born c1846, George Nicoll born c1817.

Don't think there is a connection:  my Andrew Nicoll was born in Fife in 1856 and he had only one brother, Alexander.
