Hi
Bulstrode St is south of the River Orwell near theA137 where Hawes St and Vernon st join.
Had to dig the glasses out as I only have a little book of Suffolk Streets.
Hope this helps

Austin St is very near Bulstrode St .
Peel St is up in the town near Tower Ramparts and the train station it comes off A1156 ( Crown Street). North of the river.

Bulstrode Street, in Ipswich does not exist it is Bulstrode Road, which is in the area ninkynoo described.(although i would describe is at South of the river Cheesy)

it is off Austin Street, Ipswich and is very close to the docks. This area has changed quite a bit. as Wherstead road which would have joined austin street and lead out off town has bee re-routed to allow for clearance and rebuilding work.

Peel Street, is now just a very short street in the Town Centre(and is not near the Railway Station which lies just west of Wherstead Road.) It is near the main Ipswich bus station (not eastern Counties bus station)

i have a copy of an old Ordnance survey map of Ipswich (1902) and then Peel street was a much longer street of what look like terrace houses. It was very close to a large corset factory, (which is now a car park and adjoining streeets were cleared and is now a swimming pool)

hope this helps give you an idea of the areas.

I was born in Ipswich and haved lived here all my life  Grin Grin

Thankyou very much for the reply. When I lived in Ipswich we lived in what use to be called Yankee area. We were the first Americans to live in that area. My mum was born in Ipswich.  My Mums side is from Ipswich. Joys and Mulletts.
Is London Road still around. My Nana lived right across from Chantry Park. She lived at 399 London Road.
Thanks again

do you mean off Hawthorn drive, nr a small park and library. because if so Rosie Farley was in my yr (or the one above/below) at Chantry High school  Grin Grin

London road is still there, the old Thomson and Morgan site has been built on and the big roundabout by the entrance to Chantry Park is now traffic lights, but apart from that not much diff.

I think I have the street wrong. But I went to Chantry School in 1967-1969. Mr Weber was Headmaster then.
The park im thinking of across from my Nana had a Building that you went to when you first got out of Hospital.

Yes thats where she lived from about 1968 to 2001 when she died.  Before that she lived at 69 Prospect road, and that is long gone.
I was the only American in that school then. I went there because my parents Divorced in the USA and we went to Ipswich.
Thankyou again
