hi according to the igi my
ggggrandad john dixon wed a mary ?
in 1823 in  st michael ,appleby,westmoreland.
can any one look up her second name on anywhere online
(not asking anyone to venture out in this heat.just if anyone has this info i would be gratefull)

Hi Dwalin,

The IGI says he married Mary Dixon! This could be true. I had an instance of John Robinson marrying Mary Robinson which was correct. They were not at all related.

However it is not a record taken directly from a parish register but submitted by a member of the Mormon church who may or may not have looked at the actual church records

Form submitted by a member of the LDS Church. The form lists the submitter's name and address and may include source information. The address may be outdated. Details vary. To find the form, you must know the batch and sheet number.

Many church members submissions are absolute rubbish, some are spot on - without checking the original record you always take a risk with any index.

 Grin thank you both for your help.
i wasent going to take the igi as absolute but i know this is the right wedding for my ggggranparents.
the thought of them both being dixon di cross my mind as i have a set of cousins in the bell side im researching as well.
i think i may have to wait untill i can get there and look up what i need.
but i do thank you for helping again.
