Hi,
Thats a good point - although the Luton district does not include Harlington, it does include anumber of smaller surrounding villages, including Sundon - Ezra's last place of settlment before moving to Luton.
Suppose the only way to find out is to order that Cerificate.
Cheers Jim

Hi again, I hope some of you can still remember the basis of this topic? I finally ordered the death certiciate i said i was going to do a few motnhs back! Anyway details are as follows:
When died: 19th Dec 1917 Where died: 17 Duke street, Luton Name: Ezra Fowler Sex: Male Age: 65 Years Occupation: Builder's Carter Cause: Gastro enteritis , Heart Failure Informant: C.Marshall, Daughter
So he was still living in Luton, alhtough not the same area of Luton. And his rel name was given. The 'C.Marshall', possibly his daughter Charlotte married a man named Marshall?
Are there any suspicions that this is not the correct death record?
Sorry for taking so long! Kind Regards Jim

You can check the GRO indexes on Ancestry.co.uk yourself to see if you can convert the "possibly his daughter Charlotte" into something more definite. If you can show that then you're in the clear. If not back to the drawing board.
Shouldn't take you more than your fabled 18 minutes!
David

I think i've got it:
Marriages March 1911 Charlotte Fowler Frederick A Marshall
Unless of course, it isn't the right Charlotte either? Or would that be too much of a coinincidnce?
I found the Frederick A Marshall on the 1891 census aged 4, living at Albert Road, Luton. Charlotte was 2 months old in 1891 so surely the same one?

Only one way to prove it. Splash out seven quid on the certificate. Looks very probable though.

Hi Jim Looks like you've got him to me, but only the marriage cert would prove it as David (and Tazzie) said. Jan
