Thank you very much. I assume both those dates are the burial date because I had 22 May as Janet's death. Interesting that the interpretation of her death certificate has her age at death as 81. I would say from the MI and the census that the death certificate probably says 87 and not 81.
From Death Certificate:
Death: 1879; Limekilns, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland; widow of Alexander Anderson, letter carrier; age 81; parents John Keltie, seaman, deceased and Elizabeth Keltie M.S. Dundas, deceased; senile general debility & decay; witness Christina French, daughter.
1851
Civil parish Abercorn Address Society
Alexander Anderson head age 68 born Colessie Fifie occ church officer
Janet Anderson wife age 58 born Culross Perth

I know one researcher of this family who will be very happy we have a burial date for Alexander.

Hello Jean,
I have one more ANDERSON I'd like you to check please.
Janet DANSKIN b. 1776 Abercorn married Alexander ANDERSON in 1807 and their 4th child was born on 4 Aug 1815 Abercorn. Alexander remarried on 8 Nov 1818 so Janet died between those last two dates.

David Parker, died 1884
his wife Mary Forrest, died 1887
David's mother, Susannah Wardrope, who died 1851-1861

Nothing in the pre 1855 inscriptions.
If you go to http://www.wlfhs.org.uk/ and click on Burial Registers Search you'll find David Parker and a possible for Mary Forrest.
You would need to purchase the CD for details.

You are so right, there they are. I love those folks at the FHSs who work to put these indexes online for us all to use. Do you know if the CD has a transcription of the OPR burial/death record, or the MI, either, both?

hey,
My ancestors are also John Matthew Gardner (born 1796 England) and Isabella Laing Gardner (born 14 March 1795) through their son, Colin, who immigrated to Australia. I know from my research that John (merchant and innkeeper) died on 13th January 1847 in Borrowstowness, West Lothian, Scotland. His wife Isabella Gardner (nee Laing) took over the running of his affairs and she died on 30th May 1851 also in Borrowstowness. I have both of their wills and when Isabella died her accumulated possessions and land came in at over 800pounds, quite a sum for that time. They were survived by sons William and Colin (John died when he was four) and a daughter, Isabella. If you need any more information about the Gardner family I would be happy to assist as best I can. I can also send you the wills via email as well. Hope this has helped.

Hi:
Searching for tombstones/burials for Alexander DRUMMOND and his wife Christian STEWART died late 1700's up to c. 1810 in either Abercorn or Linlithgow graveyards. Dont have exact dates, thats what I'm looking for.

West Lothian Burials CD - Abercorn not covered as yet, but none of your names in Linlithgow.

I have a hunch that this couple moved to Glasgow. But then they could still be buried in WL. and the monument long gone before a transcription. Maybe never know.
