Elgin -- John Glennie Findlay

My grandfather was John Glennie Findlay, born Elgin, 1882, to Jane Findlay, illegitimate.  No father is listed on the birth certificate, but I am wondering whether there might be something in a parish record to indicate paternity.  When he emigrated to Canada, he became known as John Findlay Glennie, and that has been the family surname since his arrival.  I suspect that there may be a Glennie in the paternity, since the name appears nowhere in what I have of the Findlay line.
Jane (Janet) Findlay, his mother, was born about 1843.  She later married John Young, a widower, and had at least one additional child.
I have found her on the 1881 census, living in Coulart Cottage, dairymaid.  I have also found the Young family on the 1891 census.

Many thanks for the census information about the Findlay family.  Now I have to get out the maps, the family data, and continue my investigations!  They are elusive.
