Hi Geoff,
Is there anything more you can tell us about George W. Goddard ?
It is always good to know where you are upto with your research so then we can all try to possibly help (if we can)
Perhaps you have a trade or a mention in the census returns...??

Hi Sarah
I don't have alot of information about him and only found hime on a recent trip to the archives in Wets Bromwich. I always thought that the Goddards originated in the Black Country but when I looked on the 1861 census I found that he came from High Wycombe. He moved to the area before 1861 and had most of his children in Wednesbury. At some point he was in London as his eldest daughter was born in 1845 in Soho. He was a furnace man by trade and has yet to appear in a directory.
Not really that much!
Geoff

Any chance these GODDARDs connect to the family of the same name in WILTS during the late 16th and early 17 centuries?? Specificly, I have Bridget GODDARD (ca 1575-1654/55) daughter of Edward GODDARD and Mary KINGSMILL.

Hi Carl
Anythings possible at the moment. I've recently had a contact with someone who thinks that George William may be connected to his John Goddard born in Windsor in 1807 and it look promising. If true them it seems that they may have travel about. GWGoddard certainly spent some of his youth in London. I can't find his baptism at all!
Sorry doesn't really help much. Regards Geoff

Hi Kiddo The information I have on George W Goddard is that he was born n High ycombe in about 1814. I think he had an elder brother John and a younger sister Elizabeth. Parents, possibly, William and Fanny. He moved to London and had two children there in the 1840's. He then moved to Surry and later to Wednesbury. I have him on the 51, 61 and 71 census but not the 41 and I have no baptim information on him apart from the fact that he is not on the BUCKS. records. Any help much appreciated. Regards Geoff
