Hi Everyone
I haven't had a reply yet as to the status of this topic yet so while i am waiting Huh.Having used the  Cheshire (includes L'Pool) Historical directories at my library for some years.I would be interested to know your interpretation of the information it gives, because some people seem to think it is like a census and you can find the wife of Harold and children Harold & Marianne had. I can only go by the directories i look at but most contain basically the same layout, i wheather it's 1750 or 1921.I might add i am no expert Grin I just look under surnames for my Customers,for the want of a better word Grin

Hi
I had a look in the Gores 1855,Liverpool & Environs for your William Carson. There were 3 .
1/ Broker (C&k) 13,Oxford Street
2/ Draper (C & Son) of Willowbank, 150, Smithdown lane
3/ Slater & Plasterer, 59 Gill Street,  & King Street Egremont.
Same Carsons in 1853 with an extra William. He was a Teacher,Academy. 17 Smithdown Lane.
I looked under Street Names for Wolfe street. Strangely it wasn't there.Knowing the reason that might be, because in the particular book it gives a street index.That tells where each st is located.  I found the reference Hill St/Wolfe St Toxteth Park. Don't know if any of these are yours,but at least you now know that Wolfe st is probably off Hill St.
