Hi J.J.
I don't know if this is them or not.
Just in case they can be found living in or around Blackfoot, I put it on here. I have been searching for any reference to this area, to see if I can match them up, but so far nothing.
I guess the people who wrote the biographies didn't know their first names.

Janice that is a wonderful story of the trip to Canada & the hard work for the children & family made for excellent reading. Reminds me of my mum having to become a farm wife, and succeeding beautifully...because one had no choice...We are so lucky to have so much these days...but maybe we are missing something as well...
The 1904 imm. date does match with several Stubbs entries...However it was also put on middle Williams death cert that they entered the country around 1918 ( was that entered by his son William Edward, I can't remember)...It also says that is when they entered the Province as well, though...and his son William's information says 1904 on his death cert... I guess the son might have come first, although he'd have been awefully young...Not unheard of to leave home & come to Canada at 16, though...It happened. Many things to consider...but would be nice to tie something down with census info...Usually my digging turns up SOMETHING!

This may be your Lizzie's immigration info.:
A Lizzie Williams born 1877 sailed on the Californian in 1899 from Liverpool to Halifax according to Find My Past.
Searching Library& Archives Canada Passenger Lists, there are 3 possibilities for her arrival: Halifax, N.S. - 1899-01-16 (also stopped St. John, N.B.) Halifax, N.S. - 1899-12-08 Halifax, N.S. - 1899-03-26 Passenger Lists search page: http://collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/passenger/001045-100.01-e.php
My eyes are having difficulty as the text is so small for finding her on these.

Hello, Lydart! Did you ever find a connection to the surname "St.George Stubbs" from the Prairies? ( Lewis (Boer) & Roy ( RCAF ww2 ) plus 6 siblings ) Just found this information on the parents of Lewis, just in case there is a connection....Both were prominent men in Manitoba history...

Thanks for that ... but I'm sure there is no connection ...

Correction: actually, I see that the surname was Stubbs, and the St. george was given to all the children as a middle name...so it is not really part of the surname...His father was simply Alfred Stubbs...but eventually it did seem to become as one surname St. George-Stubbs http://www.automatedgenealogy.com/census11/SplitView.jsp?id=66315

JJ ... I'm almost 100% sure there is no connection ... the Manchester Stubbs were all artisans and no suggestion of the sort of education level that would result in a barrister ! I also think the St. George part of the name would have been something carried through a family, and I've not seen it anywhere before.
I'll have a search through the English censuses ...
