My research now shows that I have links to family in Westbourne Sussex. Can anyone let me know how or where I start to look to find out info on Westbourne. My very distant relative was RICHARD WILLIAM CHARLES WHITE, and on the 1881 census he is shown as being born in Westbourne. He married ELIZABETH MARY JONES, and I wonder if she came from Westborne to. My research shows him born in 1857, but she may have been older than him, and been born about 1852. Any info would be appreciated :)Lyn

Freebmd is not complete yet, so maybe it has not been trandcribed - but it should be in 1837online.com (All the GRO books scanned and on line) - bit labourious looking for it, unless you are certain of the year.

Hi Chris. the marriage took place in Westbourne in Dec 1880, and have been on the 1837 to try to find the spouse. I've sent off for the marriage certificate for Richard William Charles White, I'm just hoping I have the right one this time :PLyn
