Hi,
I'm doing some research for my best friend but I'm stuck already!!!
Can anyone find her great grandmother on the 1901 census? I have her on previous censuses but want to know if she was married by 1901 and if she was where was her hubby from.
Her name was Minne Beatrice Bard and she was born in 1878 in Southsea but lived all her life in Birdham, Sussex.
Her parents were James Samuel Pelly Bard and Eliza (possibly Luff). James was a Master Butcher and Publican in Birdham.
Minnie married James Platt (possibly from Lincolnshire). I have no idea when or where.
Ideally I'd like to find them on the 1901 census assuming they had married by then.

The 1901 is more than probably right (I think) as everything for Minnie adds up to what I know. I wonder if Pratt/Platt was misheard or mistranscribed? Maybe my friends mum got James/Charles name wrong? I'll ask her.
What year was the marriage you found? The men's names don't fit do they? hmmmmm whats going on there?

Hmmmm thank you Tati,
I'm not so sure it's right then as my friends mum is sure it was Platt, her mother was Mary Elsie Ruby Platt and she is sure that MER Platt's father was James...

Tati, I'm not sure when MER Platt was born I'm waiting for my friends mum to get back to me with the definate date but she said about 1916.

I guess Minnie could have been going by her middle name, Beatrice, but the groom still doesn't fit with what I've been told.....and I thought my family tree was causing me problems!!!
