My Grandfather served his apprenticeship there as a boilermaker-c1918-1922 & was then made redundant or "paid off" as they say. The company never really recovered from the Depression. The Golden Jubilee Hospital is now built on the site. There were Beardmore Buildings in Dalmuir which housed a lot of their employees.

There is material in Glasgow City Archives (the Mitchell) but there is also a collection at Glasgow University Archives which includes a listing for Salary Records 1902 - 1937 (but don't get your hopes up as it might not list employees names!).
I had a look at those links thankyou Nell, as i live in Glasgow i am going to go have a look at whats there.
As well of records of employees, i am also hoping i will find something in the meeting minutes about my great uncles death, i know its probably a long shot as Beardmores was such a big company, but my great uncles death was reported in the newspapers and it may have brought the company bad press, its a long shot but has to be tried.
