!871 Sheldon Lookup Please!

I am looking for this family in 1871. I have them in 1861 at the Kings Head pub in Sutton/ Prestbury but by 1871 they are no longer there. I can't find any Sheldons that seem to fit and was hoping someone could do some lateral thinking!! (By 1871 there is another son, John James Sheldon b 1861)

James Rowson Sheldon born Prestbury 1826
Sarah Sheldon               "                        1836
George R Sheldon          "                        1857
Frederick   Sheldon         "                        1859

Hi

   Where were the family in 1881 ? If they are around then it may help eliminate the deaths, remarriage, emigration etc

I can't find them in 1881 either. I have John James Sheldon in 1881 as a lodger in Hulme. I also have George living in macclesfield with wife and children. I can't locate Frederick or the parents and I'm not having much luck with BMD. hope this helps! if not, thanks for trying! Pippa x

There is a death for a James Rawson Sheldon in Manchester in March 1893 age 57 8d 191.

If this is your James, they could have all moved to Manchester (apart from George).  Funny we can't find them on the census, unless they have been mistranscribed.

It might be worth splashing out on a Death Cert. to establish if his widow was Sarah and where they were living at his death.

Thanks Su! Yes, I think this is him. I will go in to manchester and lay out the £7! I am on the case with the Ramsdale stuff, I have asked my mother in law for her info. I will let you know when I know anything! Cheers, Pippa x
