I am interested in the Killington census, and whether it contains any house names. If so would like to know where the Tebay family lived. John aged abt 10 with father maybe abt 45. Otherwise any other info would be helpful

I don't suppose you know any other family member names.
There is a John Tebay aged 10 working on a farm in Killington 1841, does this sound like him?

It could well be him. I assumed he was living at home with his father but of course he may be working by then. The only other info is that there is an IGI birth giving mother's name as Margaret Stainton (this is the only John born about the right time)
I've just looked further on the IGI and spotted some poss siblings - including James born 1837, Henry 1834, Thomas 1828, Mary 1826, Nancy 1821, Edward 1819.
Hope this helps

This is the family in 1861 with Jane as Johns wife, is that correct? Do you have them further on than this?

That's excellent, amd yes John married Jane 1859 which is where we got fathers name of Henry from, and yes thanks we're O.K. after 1861
Shame there's not trace of the father Henry in 1841, I can't see any deaths on freebmd. Presumably you couldn't see Margaret in 1841 either - looks like the family is split up in 1841

There are three Margarets in 1841, 1781, 1800? and about 1811 but none seem to fit your family. There is one with a John and James but they are younger. Also, there are other Tebays on the page so if you want it I will post. Never know if they will be related or not when you work it out a bit more.
I noticed on IGI that there are two marriages for Margaret and Henry, 1817 and 1825, very confusing for you.

the marriages are confusing, I think the 1825 one has been put there by an LDS member and has a matching Margaret born 1805 (rather than 1796). I assume the 1817 marriage is corect with Edward born 1819.
It would be nice to see all the Tebays - as you say we can work something out (hopefully).
