Honor Laws

Trying to find out who Honor Laws was married to. She was described as married in the 1851 census (Hilgay Norfolk) but no husband was there. Her Lodger Samuel Middleton ended up as the father of her next child! She was born in about 1821 in Hilgay.

Hi Ticker There is a Thomas Laws married Downham District (which covers Hilgay) in June Qt 1840, on the same page is an HONOR NICHOLAS might be worth a look, its Volume 13 page 119. Also I don't live far from Hilgay, and our local library carries some local Parish Register copies, I could always have a look next time I'm there if you like. Anne

Anne.
Thanks very much for that. It sounds very likely that this is the right one. I know their first child (or the first one I know of) was born in about 1841 (she was also called Honor).
If you wouldn't mind looking in the library that would be most appreciated.

Thinking about it again, Anne - I suppose what I actually need to know is if the daughter Honor Laws (b. about 1841) and the son John M Laws (b. about 1848) were the children of Thomas and Honor. I think?
Anything you can find would be great.
Thanks again.

Hi again You're welcome I don't get to the library too often but next time I go, if they have the registers for Hilgay I'll give them a look okay? (Thats if you're not in too much of a hurry!) Anne

Anne. No hurry at all - just appreciative of your offer.
I've been doing this long enough to have learnt to be patient!
Just for interest Honor Laws was my ggg grandmother!
Thanks.
