Looking for the Cavanagh or Kavanagh family from Mayo. Miles, the father was probably born in the 1840s. His son John, b. 1866, son Patrick b. 1867 and daughter Margaret b. 1869, ended their days in the USA.
Any information appreciated.

You should search the birth indexes for the post 1864 births. They are available in the Dublin GRO and on film at your local family history centre.
Once you have an address, you can go to parish records.

Did a quick search on a Mayo index but no Miles Cavanagh's turned up....some did in County Wexford though:
KAVANAGH MILES married MCLAUGHLAN MARGARET 1826
Following births seem to have been Wexford too:
KAVANAGH MILES 1815 KAVANAGH MILES 1869 KAVANAGH MILES 1872
I realise it is opposite coast from Mayo but could they be any connection to your line do you think?

I am also trying to research the Cavanagh family. My Grandmother was a Mary Cavanagh, one of 5 children to a Kate and possibly Michael Cavanagh. Do you have any useful information that could help me with my search? Anything would be much apprreciated. Thanks

Welcome to Rootschat. It would help if you listed dates (even approx. dates), place, etc. as it's hard to give advice without knowing which country or period you wish to find records.
