Cluer of Barkby

I am looking for the birth of John Cluer(Blacksmith).He married Mercy Neale at St.Marys church in Barkby on 29-5-1776.He died 17-9-1832 aged 78 and is buried in the churchyard with his wife & 2 of his children.I have looked through the church records and also the bishops transcripts for the area but to no avail.I live in the north east & spent a day at the Records Office in Wigston looking through records for the surrounding parishes but had no luck.I was told he wasnt listed in the apprentices for the area so ive hit a bit of a brickwall.Has anyone any ideas please it would be greatly appreciated.Kind Regards Peter
