BAKER family - Melton Mowbray
« on: Thursday 10 August 06 15:11 BST (UK) »

I am trying to find more information regarding my father's family; the basic information I have is as follows:

Grand father - Frederick Samuel Baker b1864 Melton Mowbray.
(Had a twin Robert who died 1866)
There also appears to have been a younger sister, Jessie.
He moved to Wavertree, Lancashire and was a police constable
                        in Liverpool.

G Grand father - Robert Frederick Baker b c1829 Melton Mowbray.
Married Jessie Mattieson 1857 ( but I don't find them living
together on any censuses so I'm suspicious. Huh )

GG Grand father - Thomas Baker b 1791 Somerby.
                          Married Ann Innocent 1822.

If anyone has any information I'd be happy to receive it. If you search on any of these on GenesReunited, you will find my tree; drop me a line and I'll sort out access.

I look forward to hearing from you. Smiley

 Grin Grin Grin

As you say
A Robert Frederick BAKER married
in 1857 in Melton Mowbray, Leics
Jun Qtr  7a 400
and on the same page was a Jessie MATHIESON

As you say, none of these people seem to be on any Censuses together.  The only way to find out if this couple were actually Frederick's parents, is to send for his birth certificate, which you can order online at

http://www.1837online.co.uk

Happy hunting !!
