Desperately searching for a birth or christianing date and parents of Thomas Lees who I believe was born in Hertford.I have him in the 1841 census living in Hertford and the age given would give him a birth year circa 1812.
Thomas married Mary Mardell(christianed Datchworth 29 Jan 1815) and went on to have 11 children,I have the names and christening dates for all of them.All christianed in Hertford or Bengeo where Thomas and Mary had moved to after Hertford.
Thomas died before 1871 census and again I cannot find an entry on freeBMD for his death.
There was a Thomas Lees born in Ashwell,Herts 1812 but this is not the one that I am looking for.
If I can get thru this wall I should be able to link my Thomas back to Robert Lees who married Elizabeth Say,Holy Trinity,Bengeo 6 Aug 1697.Any help at all would be greatly appreciated,thanks,Peter Lee

Hi !!

Have you got either Thomas Lees or Mary Mardell's parents?  Do you know where his parents might have been born?  When were they married?

I am working on my own Mardell family tree and while I am researching, if I come across these two I will let you know.

I searched the Bengeo PRs today and found the following  burial entry   ...

10 March 1861  Thomas Lees   Age 54   Address Port Hill, Bengeo.

Hope this is your man.
