I am looking for Agnes Reid b 1837 Leswalt, Wigtown, Scotland, dau of John Reid (RN b 9/5/1794 Stornoway, Ross and Cromarty d 24/4/1844 Elm Grove, Cheshire) and Janet Mathie (b 1/5/1801 Middle or New Parish, Greenock, Scotland d 1/5/1844 in Elm Grove, Cheshire). Agnes Reid survived and married Stepeh Lowther Crofton in 1868. Where was she in the intervening years? I would be grateful for some help.

Oops, no, Barbara, Chas, and Thos are all Shands. I wonder if they have some relationship to the Reids, because they seem to be (hard to tell with 1841) visitors, maybe relatives, not staff.

Hi Astral,
Found a Agnes Reid on the 51 census, shows her as a 13 year old pupil in what looks like a girls school in Warwickshire, only it gives her birthplace as Strancaes, Scotland, nearest I can find,
H.O.107/2074 ( this is the bit that gets me ) is it page 502 and folio 14 or the other way round?
Best wishes. Pete.
