I just got my great grandmothers death cert and her parents were Montgomery Armstrong and Sarah Armstrong. Her name was Jane Armstrong b 1847, and she came to America in 1876 and married George Copeland. Georges parents (who I have info on) were Hugh Copeland ( also known as "the Good Hugh" in Enniskillen) and Nicholina Armstrong. Yes ...I am "double" Armstronged lol. Does Anyone know of Montgomery and Sarah???
Nicholina's parents were William Armstrong and Jane Montgomery.

This is an update on my previous post:
Montgomery Armstrong b.1812 at Drummee, Innishmore (Island) Co Fermanagh married Sarah Buchanan , of Bunnynubber, Omagh, Co Tyrone. in 1845.
Montgomery's parents were William Armstrong and Jane Montgomery.
I am looking for any connections to Montgomery and Sarah.

What denomination was the Armstrong family?
You'll have to rely on Church records as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.

I have been researching this family quite extensively. And since I posted this I have found alot more info.I belong to a few lists which have helped. PLUS....on rootschat I connected to a direct cousin in Ireland. lol Lucky me huh? lol
I have also found info thru Irish newspapers where marraiges/deaths and births were posted.
In answer to your question they were Methodists. Very involved Methodists. Montgomery's father William Armstrong (b 1764 Scotland) had John Wesley to his home to preach .
