Hi Everyone
I wonder if anyone can find me anything about Agnes Wrighton, she was born 1867 at Kimbolton, her parents were William Smith Wrighton and Emma Reynolds. I have her on the 1871 and 1881 census, but nothing after that. I dont know whether she married or died. I have tried looking the only one I found was Agnes Wrighton at Blackburn and she was in a widowed house, but Wrighton wouldn't be her married name. But knowing the trouble I have been having with her father, I dont know whether she may have reverted back to her maiden name.
Thanks a lot
Gillian

Forever Searching

Hi Edna
Do you actually have a copy of her birth certificate ?? I ask because I can't find the birth of an Agnes WRIGHTON, only a Mary WRIGHTON in 1867 in Huntingdon. Sometimes, Agnes was used as a pet name.

Hi Gillian. I have been having a look this afternoon and like you I have found her on free bmd but nothing after that. I dont suppose you remember your Mum talking about an Auntie Agnes. No such luck, but I am wondering if thats who your Mum used to visit in Kimbolton especially if the other sister ended up in London.(have I got that right?)
Linda.

Well, its keeping us out of mischief I suppose Gillian. Have to admit they are a tricky bunch. None of them seem to be very straightforward but I am interested in this Agnes because if she remained in Kimbolton, I can ask a few of our rellies there if they remember her. Or if we get a married name they may remember the family. More cousins for us to visit.
Linda.

Have found a marriage for an Agnes Eleanor Wrighton on free bmd for December 1891 in Edmonton. Where in London did the other sister go? Do you know where she was on the census?
Linda.

Or there was an Agnes Emma married in 1882 but she would be a bit on the young side and I have no idea where Headington is!!! Or there is an Agnes Annie in Knaresbro` in 1891. Do you have a Sylvia Agnes Wrighton on you tree who was born in 1905 in Grimsby?
Linda.

Hi Linda
That Agnes Eleanor Wrighton is daughter to another wrighton, can you remember looking at it when you came over to see us. The Agnes that I'm looking for is just Agnes.

Why do they aft to call the children same names it doesn't half cause a problem.
My mums sister was called Sylvia Agnes, but when we were kids we couldn't say Sylvia, so she told us to call her Aunty Aggie.
I wondered whether Agnes was a bit of a nickname, but I didn't know what other name it could be.
Thank you everyone for looking.
