I hoped I could help, but I can't.  I have Balfours in Fife as well, but I don't think they're connected to the ones you mentioned.  I have a Janet Balfour, born 1816 in Pittenweem, married to David Nicoll and daughter of George Balfour & Jannet White.  George and his father, also George, were apparently born in Largo.

I am new to this site and am still finding my way.  I have Balfour's in my family.  Janet Gilmour Balfour was my great grandmother.  Her parents were William Balfour, a coalminer inspector in Auchterderran, and Mary Clark.
My grandmother, Mary Arnott and her brother, Thomas were the children of William and Janet Arnott.
Can anyone give any more info on this family from Fife?

Many thanks

Family surnames being researched ...
Crawford, Neilson, Lindsay, Reekie, Davidson
Drummond, Pearson, Laing ... will do for starters but there's a whole lot more!
