RootsChat notifications = Spam ??

I'm getting a lot of RootsChat notifications that ARE spam.

My last three notifications are:-

A new topic, 'leading representative organisation for people', has been made on a board you are watching.

A new topic, 'Girl of your dream looking for love', has been made on a board you are watching.

A new topic, 'I'm really in sync', has been made on a board you are watching.

All of these arrived today.

How is it that the spammers are able to set up RootsChat accounts?

Anyone can set up a rootschat account.
The question is how quickly the moderators can find and remove/ban them. Smiley

Yes, I'm afraid nobody can tell what somebody is going to post when they set up an account but we do try to keep an eye and delete them as soon as possible and anybody posting inappropriate content is banned by the adminstration department.

Steven, at present they are mostly targeting the Bedfordshire board because it's the county listed first alphabetically so I would suggest, perhaps for the time being, that you turn off notification for new posts added to the Bedfordshire board and just check it from time to time so as you don't miss anything.
