Hi Carriej
Forgive me for butting in John. The best starting place to look for information on parishes is on www.genuki.com
There's no mention on there of an alternative name. Each parish had just the one established church at that time - St Mary Magdelene in the case of Brampton (although a larger town could have a number of parishes - but there was just the one in Brampton).
Regards
David (the same one as last night on the other message board)

Hi John
There's a William and Mary Redhead in 1818 in Elton, but that's a bit of a hike from Alconbury.
Where was George baptised? Do you have them in censuses?
Regards
David

Hello to all,
I found this thread whilst Googling for information on the Allen family of Brampton. Not sure if it is of interest to anyone, but Robert Allen, whom this thread began with, had a brother John (also mentioned previously). This John married Charlotte Allen, from a completey seperate set of Allens as far as I can tell. This other set of Allens are the ancestors of my own family and I have an ever-growing tree containing Charlotte's brother Thomas, and many generations from him directly down to me! If anyone is interested in sharing info in this area, please post and let me know
