I've checked the Royal Mail address database and the Streetmap website and they have no trace of 'Gennup' anywhere. I know it is possible that the street name has been changed since 1970s but are you sure of the spelling?

up to a few years ago it was still there, the best thing to do is contact canvey island council, sydervelt road, canvey island, essex hope its some help
