I'm also looking for parish records for Chilcompton.  All I have been able to find so far is on the Genuki site which lists the parish records for Chilcompton held by Somerset Archives.

Dear ShielaM,  Thanks for your reply.  I think I will have to visit the records office as you stated.
I am not currently looking for a Broome connection, but you never know.  I am not sure if you have seen the Link on this Somerset site, which is titled CLUTTON FAMILIES.  I found some useful information on this section, which may also prove useful to you.  You probably already know, but this is the registration area for the earlier Chilcompton records.  I hope you find some useful information.

Thank you for the tip, I hadn't noticed the link but will have a look at it.  My Somerset search has been on the back burner for a while now as I came to a standstill looking for baptisms in Chilcompton around 1820.

I know the records office will do a search but it is very expensive and I don't have a definite date.
