I am looking for any info on a William Mc Carthy b 1831  Magheraconluce, who married Mary Jane Raverty b 1831 Drumlough in 1852.His father was Henry Mc Carthy and Mary Jane's father was John Raverty. Their daughter Margaret Mc Carthy m'd William John Mc Alister. (my paternal grandparents)Also looking for info on John Mc Dowell b 1837 Magheralin who married Martha (Ann /Jane)Irwin c 1860.Their son William John m'd Elizabeth Black in 1892.(my maternal grandparents) Mc Carthy/Ravertys were in Hillsborough/Dromore area(probably still are) and Mc Dowell side gravitated to Lambeg,Co Antrim. Any info greatly appreciated.Betsy Harper

Hi,
If you look at the "Ros Davies" website for County Down there are some Ravertys listed- it's an unusual enough name in Ireland- you might make some connection.
Just put "Ros Davies " into a Google search and it will take you to it,
