Emerson in Bethnal Green/Shoreditch
« on: Thursday 04 November 04 12:08 GMT (UK) »

My Gt grandfather Thomas George Lovell married Elizabeth Emerson on 29-8-1875 in Bethnal Green. This is the only reference I can find for her, she would be nonexixstant except for their marriage cert. Can any one help me to find her. Born I think about 1853

Slightly off-subject, but was looking at this great site yesterday that had a VERY detailed description of Bethnal Green in the mid 1800's.  It wasn't very complimentary! Well worth a look when you've got an address as it names most of the streets and describes their condition.  Of course, you may find you're family come from 'unhealthy parish of Shoreditch'   Undecided

Has definitely changed my perceptions of my ancestors!  Embarrassed

Sorry I thought I might find her parents in 1851 Bethnal Green but there was no Robert.  Sorry
