Children born aft 1829 in Guyzance/East Fields/Warkworth/Branton
1841 Census - living Branton
John was an Ag. Labourer.
Both born about 1800. Eleanor's possible   birthplaces include Whittingham, Glanthes and Longhoughton.

(2) James PURVIS m. Dorothy (maiden name unknown) before 1841
James was a Sea Pilot.
James was born c1797 in South Shields, Durham.
Dorothy was born c1791-96 in North Shields, Northumberland.
1841 Census - living Westoe, South Shields, Durham.

Hi Aillin

I've checked the Northumberland Marriage 1813-1837 for your couples and there are no entries that match.

The James PURVIS (PURVES) marriage isn't recorded at Lamberton Toll 1833-1849.

I've also checked the Irregular Marriages recorded in the Berwick Advertiser 1808-1864 and again neither of your couples are recorded there.

There is the following entry in the Berwick Advertiser that may interest you:

Entry 163
Date of Newspaper 10 February 1827
Place of Marriage  Coldstream
Date of Marriage  Wednesday
Mr Anthony TURNER of Coat Yard near Netherwitton to Miss Jane CHRISP of Glantlees near Newton-on-the-Moor

Regards

Helen K

Thanks so much for these lookups Helen,
The entry in the Irregular Marriages recorded in the Berwick Advertiser 1808-1864 is very interesting - a possible connection!
Thanks again,
