Hi Mary
I have Laws in my tree from Rickling. My main Law is William bn 1816 to Mary Law. He married Jane Reed and had childen Adelaide, Rueben, Jesse, Isebel, Mark, Jane, Charlotte, Annie and Alice. A lot of them actually stayed in Rickling.
I have found in Parish records that William could have had 4 siblings also. James bn 1814 m. Rebecca ?, Mary bn 1819, Emma bn 1822 m. James Perring 1839, and Thomas bn 1829 d. 1852.
If any of these are linked to your family I would love to know as I'm at a brick wall at the moment as there is no fathers mentioned within the christenings of Mary's children.
Regards
Jacky

Hi
I am also researching the Laws of Rickling and Ugley. I have William Law 1816 m to Jane Reed, with children Adelaide, Reuben, Jesse, Mark, Isobel, Jane, Charlotte, Annie and Alice.
My great Grandmother was the daughter of Reuben who married Esther Kent....
I have more information if interested....... trying to find out more about Reuben Law 1886, son of the above and younger brother to my Great Grandmother, who was killed in WW1.
Any info gratefully received........
Thanks

The Emma Law mentioned as a possible sibling to William Law did indeed marry James Perring, although my family (Perrings of Rickling, Essex) records show the marriage as being in 1838. James (1815-1900) and Emma (1821-1904) had twelve children: Mary (b 1839 d?), George (1841-45), Thomas (1844-1920), Alfred (1846-78), James (1848-1935), Frederick (1850-53), Walter (1852-?), Charles (1855-?), Edmond (1857-85), Arthur William (1859-80), Joseph (1861-1949), and Henry (1866-?). Dont know how much this will help but may give you another avenue of research.

Hi Mary
I have an Eliza Law in my tree, she was married to David Freeman, my Gt. Grandfather’s brother. She was born in 1853 in Langley, Essex, the daughter of Aaron Law and Jane Sell, so my connection is quite tenuous but I am in touch with a distant cousin who is Eliza’s Gt. Granddaughter.
There is a post on the message board of the Pelham web site -
(http://www.thepelhams.net/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/)
from a Jillian in NSW Australia who gave me this particular branch back as far as John Law who married Martha Knights in 1726 in Elmdon.
I don’t recognise any of the Law names mentioned in the above posts but I’m sure that there must be a connection somewhere. If you do find one I would be interested to hear about it.
Good Luck!
Lyndsey
