Marriage of George RAGAN
« on: Wednesday 06 September 06 18:04 BST (UK) »

Hi all
I am looking for a marriage entry of Michael Ragan/Reagan he married Jane Taylor  it shows them in the 1851 census he was 21 and she was 20 so i assume they had not been married very long they were living in louth.
Michael was born in Ireland 1830.but unfortunately i don't know what part.also he doesn't seem to be in 1841 census so i cannot find his fathers name.any help would be appreciated thankyou.

Regards
Kate.

Use the full indexes to search for Michael in the index.

Then see if a Jane Taylor matches for qtr, district, page.

Hi Pauline
I have already looked there plus the geniology site.i am thinking they may not have married there.I have bought a couple of certs but they were the wrong ones.

Would the place marriage entry come under louth or lincolnshire i am not very good with parishes yet.I am now going to have another look just in case i have missed it.

Just record likely marriages from ANY district... , and then review what you have.

An awful lot of Irish people came to England between 1841 and 1851. For various reasons, such as working on the railways, and the Irish Potato Famine.

Its quite likely Michael Regan was in Ireland in 1841, and had come to England by 1851.
