Holy Island - Pilgrims' Path
|
Hi Jan
There are quite a lot of Jane McKenzie (variations) on the 1901 - none that I can find in Alloa or Clackmannanshire.
I found the marriage cert which does give her parents:
GROS Ref - 465-A page 70 : 10 August 1898, Aloa - after Publication according to the Forms of the Roman Catholic Church
Patrick McKenzie, Bricklayer, bach, 22
and
Jan McGuigan, Millworker, sp, 25
Her parents- Patrick McGuigan, labourer Mary McGuigan, maiden surname Stewart
Can't yet locate a birth reg. but hope this helps.

HI Jan
Small world - I live here too - west coast
I do some local research for friends but don't have family links - mine are mainly D & G.
Thanks for your kind offer - I'llbear it in mind
Don't envy you your search for your Irish roots now though

Hi Jan
They were indeed James McKenzie, labourer and Susan Devine
Would you like me to check for them on the 1891 or Patrick's birth?

Hi Jan
Patrick's birth record: GROS Ref - 466
November 25 1875, New Sauckie, Clackmannan
James Archibald McKenzie, woollen weaver and Susan Devine. Married 21 February 1873, Melrose.
I expect you'd quite like their marriage record to find their parents

PS Melrose came from where they were married - woollen trade I expect
