'Ane I thought 'YAPP' would be an unusual name and easy to trace !!
« on: Saturday 09 September 06 15:06 BST (UK) »

My 3x gt granny was Elizabeth Yapp b. 9 May 1805 (I think).  She married Evan Thomas James in Presteigne in 1836.  In the census' for 1851 and 1861 it records that she was born in Ludlow, but I cannot trace her family.  I thought it would be relatively easy with a name like Yapp, but there are hundreds of them, I have discovered.  But I can't link them to any of my Elizabeth.  Can anyone throw any light onto this puzzle please. Huh

Hi Sands,

[...] but there are hundreds of them, I have discovered.

And believe it or not, there are at least three RootsChatters who are also searching for YAPP, two of them in Shropshire.

try looking in the Surname Interests Table (link at bottom of the page [Your Surname Interests] )

You can use the name links to send them a PM.

(and while you are there, add your names, too Smiley Smiley )

And that's just the ones who have entered their name interests.  Try the "Search RootsChat" button at the top of the page for YAPP as well, there are several there, who haven't used the Surname Interest Table (Hint, Hint !!!)

Good Hunting, and enjoy RootsChat,
Bob
