1901 census look-up please Walter LONGHURST
« on: Sunday 10 September 06 17:49 BST (UK) »

Hello All

I am trying to find Walter Longhurst but his surname is prone to mis-transcription.

Walter was baptised Nov 1840 in Ealing Middlesex. He married Georgi(a)na Woods in Gaywood, Kings Lynn in Sept 1867. They then started a family back in Greater London and in 1868,1871 and 1873 were in Pimlico, 1875 Wandsworth, 1878 Edmonton, 1880 Waltham Abbey and 1886 Peckham. The family were prone to travelling. They were at Thaxted for the 1881 census. In 1901 they were in Twickenham.

By 1901 some of the family were in Cottenham having arrived sometime around 1896 when one of the children dies there.

Georgina has been transcribed on the Ancestry index as Longbuset and the 1901 National Archive index as Loughton but she is head of the family, as she was in 1881.

So were is Walter? he's around somewhere as his death is recorded at St Ives in 1910. His occupation should be 'carpenter'.

Hope someone can find him.

Thanks in advance
