Hi Shaun
Are you still stuck on this one?
We had lengthy emails about him before - remember?
revmother aka mary plunkett!
Did you ever manage to get his birth certificate, because it would give you his parents?

Hi Shaun
I've some research for you and found this:
i think this is your man: james Blacksley Mack born Dec 1863 registered at Forehoe Norfolk ( a stones throw from Silfield where he was born).
The reference you need for ordering the certificate is 4b 176
so when you have the birth certificate you'll have his parents. (may find his mothers maiden name, or granny's maiden name is Blacksley).
have you seen the census entries for him?

1871 Eliza Mack head maried age 24
james son 5
john son 3
also in the house:
Mary A haws visitor unmarried 21
caroline haws visitors dau unmarried 2 also harriet stangram sister

1901 shows james, wife emma, eldest son Ernest Barham age 18,
eva 14, wm 12 , arthur 9 all living Park Lane Wymondham, in the rural distrrict of Forehoe, all born Silfield.

Looks like Emma had a son before she married James

let me know when you receive the birth certificate - you have to pay for it!

I think we'll continue this conversation with personal emails now. There may be someone on the Norfolk part of the site who knows about finding cemetery inscriptions. I do't know about that.
