Painter family « on: Sunday 18 October 09 10:45 UTC (UK) »
I have a copy of a marriage certificate between David Painter and Catherine Burt (my gt gt gt gt grandparents) who were married in 1786. I think i have been able to trace David's parents as Peter Painter and Margaret Jackson. On David Painter's marriage certificate it states that he was servant to Peter Painter in the Abbey. The district is Newburgh
Does anyone know what sort of servant he would have been? Would he have been a servant to his father?
hi texmex hope this helps with your research, taken from the pre 1855 death index for fife.
